My African Routes

Mary-lou Pasquier Cocks

I was born in South Africa, a country I know intimately and continue to explore with curiosity and care.

After more than twenty years spent in France, I developed a deep understanding of the expectations of French travellers — how they travel, and what they truly seek in a tailor-made experience.

Today, I design journeys in South Africa shaped by this dual perspective.
I favour places that have meaning — for their setting, their sense of hospitality, and their commitment to the environment and local communities.

I work closely with each of my clients, taking the time to understand their pace, their preferences, and the way they like to travel.

Designing a journey is, above all, a relationship built on trust.
This is why I pay close attention to every detail, so you can travel with complete peace of mind, knowing your journey has been thoughtfully created just for you.

Born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal, I have a deep love for this country, a soft spot for all that KZN has to offer, and a passion for helping others experience it in a meaningful way.

Through my work as a photographer and storyteller, I’ve had the chance to explore many different sides of South Africa, from its wild spaces and coastlines to its quieter, lesser-known corners. Along the way, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for its landscapes, people and sense of place.

As a keen environmentalist, responsible tourism is important to me, and at My African Routes we believe in creating experiences that put people, places and wildlife at the heart of every journey.

Through My African Routes, I share a more personal and authentic side of South Africa, helping travellers discover experiences that go beyond the obvious and reflect the true spirit of the country.
